UKAEA installs 12-tonne vessel for MAST Upgrade heating expansion
UKAEA engineers have positioned a double beam box for MAST Upgrade. Two additional neutral beam injectors are intended to raise heating power from 4.4 MW to 8.8 MW. Major hardware installation is expected by late autumn 2027, with scientific experiments planned for 2028; this remains fusion research infrastructure.
